Happy Spring! Here are the latest updates to your Member Essentials platform. 

Dues Management

As you continue to collect dues, there are new enhancements to the Dues Management tool that are now available. They include:

  • Dues Adjustments – There is now a new way to make adjustments (credits or debits) to a Member’s dues payments, which will help facilitate partial scholarships and dues discounts. To see how this works, please review Dues Adjustments.

  • Waived Dues Definitions – If Members do not have to pay dues, you can create an access group. This is most commonly used for those who will be receiving a full scholarship. When they log in to their portal, they will see that they do not owe any dues under Membership Dues Requirement.

  • Tracking Dues – On the Admin Profile, there is a new Membership Dues section where you can find Dues Transactions and Membership Dues Requirement. For Dues Transactions, the Details link will show a list of all the add-ons a Member paid for. For Membership Dues Requirement, it will display the status of a Member’s dues payment. 

Take note, Membership Dues Requirement may appear as a different name such as Membership Dues Obligations, Membership Dues Commitments, etc.

In addition, we wanted to send a few reminders for the best way to collect and manage offline dues payments through Order Management:

  • Entering Check, Cash or Credit Card Payments - If you impersonate a Member and use the Pay link, the Admin checkbox still appears. This feature no longer works with dues orders. Instead, you can use Order Management to process these transactions. See Add New Order on a Member's Behalf (Check, Cash, or Credit)

  • Voiding Dues Orders – In Order Management, you can void any offline payments. Take note, this does not refund the dues payment, but indicates that the transaction was voided. After you void a transaction, and you would like the member to again make her payment online, please send a message to [email protected] requesting to reset a Member’s membership dues requirement. If possible, please include the Transaction ID number.

  • Here are helpful resources for managing your placements for the coming year.
  • By default, Members are not able to see future-dated positions on their Member Profile. These will appear for Administrators. If you need your Members to see them before their start date, send a request to [email protected] and we can make those future positions appear for the Member. To notify Members of their position, please send an email instructing them to log in and view their profile.

New Feature: Inactivation Manager

  • We are preparing to release a new feature which could save your Administrators some steps when resigning or dropping a member. The Inactivation Manager will assign the resign/drop status and will also:
    • End date any current placement position terms
    • Cancel any pending outgoing transfer request for the member
    • Cancel any current shift/meeting registrations
    • Remove the member from any groups/GroupShares (after the next refresh)

New Feature: Vendor Management

  • The new Vendor Management tool will help your League manage market events. The tool allows vendors to sign-up for your event, complete an application, pay fees, and more. We have ten Leagues already using the system. If your League is interested in using this feature for this year’s holiday market, send a request to [email protected].
