As you may know, the Association’s bylaws state that members may be members of only one League at a time. From the AJLI Bylaws, “No member shall at any one time be a member of more than one Junior League.”

If a member is not interested in transferring her membership to your League, the other option is to accept her Seasonal Inter-League or Inter-League request and then to create an “Inactive” record for the member, so AJLI Billing does not inadvertently bill for this inactive member. She will be able to log in to your League's Member Portal and you will have a record you can manage.

Required Access:

You will need the Administrator access level and Member Essentials Plus, which includes Status Management to create local statuses.

Steps to be Taken:

1) Go to Admin > Member Management.

2) Find Status Management.

3) Create an “Inter-League Sustainer” status that is linked to Inter-League, which is not an active member status.

4) Go back to Member Management > Create New Account to create a new account for this member record.

5) Enter the email. To prevent duplicates, the system will require a unique email. The workaround is to add special characters such as "+AnyCity" to the email to create the account. After the account is created, you can update this to the original email address.

6) Assign the status "Inter-League Sustainer " to the new record.

7) Clear the checkbox next to Send Email to User with New Account Information.

8) Now, you can search for this status to manage the member record. The Member can log in to your Member Portal, but she will retain her access to the AJLI Member website from her home league. The League should make sure that all Inter-Leagues receive invitations to events and meetings as well as the general newsletters or emails all other members receive.

The "Inter-League Sustainer" member will appear in your Member Directory

It can also be managed with the "Access Groups" by including the status "Inter-League" .
