AJLI’s Placement Tool works with your existing data management system. Placement data are shared and synced between the Placement Tool and your system so that they remain one data set. To add a new placement to the Placement Tool, you must first add the placement to your existing system; it will then sync over to the Placement Tool. Instructions vary based on which system your League is using, Member Essentials or Digital Cheetah.
Adding New Placements in Member Essentials
Member Essentials Leagues will add a new Placement to Placement Matching by first adding it to Position Manager in their Member Essentials system. The placement will then sync to the Placement Tool within 24 hours, where it can be fully configured.
To force a more immediate sync (approximately 10 minutes), use the Sync Placement feature. You can open it from the Admin Queue.
For information on how to add a placement to the Position Manager too, view this tutorial.
Adding New Placements in Digital Cheetah
Digital Cheetah Leagues will add a new Placement to the Placement Tool by adding it first to the Placement Manager in their Digital Cheetah System. For instructions on how to complete this, please visit the Cheetah Help Center. You must have Digital Cheetah permission to access the Help Center. The placement will then sync to the Placement Tool within 24 hours, where it can be fully configured. Use the Sync Placements feature as described above to quicken the sync.
Adding Placements with a Bulk Upload in the Placement Tool
If you are a Digital Cheetah League who has never used Placement Matching, please contact AJLI for assistance with your first bulk upload (info@ajli.org).
If you are adding a significant number of Placements to your Placement Tool (Digital Cheetah or Member Essentials), the Import Placements icon allows you to bulk upload changes. This method is not useful for minor edits or adding a small number of placements.
Note: The fields in the spreadsheet must match exactly what is in your Placement Tool or the upload will fail.
To import placements, click the Import Placements Icon in the Administrative Queue.
You will see a check box automatically checked that says “Do Not Archive Placements that are not listed in the file upload.” This feature ensures that when you upload a new template file, the action does not overwrite existing Placements.
On the other hand, if you would like to overwrite your current catalog and start fresh, simply uncheck the box. Placements currently in the Tool will then be archived (not deleted).
Your new Placements will then appear in the Placement Configuration screen in the Tool.
