Option 1 (default)

WordPress native domain is jl.org e.g. pasadena.jl.org

Advantages: JL.org WordPress sites are protected by AJLI’s advanced security suite (Cloudflare)  no additional fees.

**League needs to keep control of Custom Domain often ~$40/year

Please Note:

For Digital Cheetah Leagues, your domain name does not change when AJLI moves your public website from Digital Cheetah to Member Essentials. The only change is on the back end: your existing domain is forwarded to the new Member Essentials naming convention (i.e. leaguename.jl.org). That means you can continue using your current domain in your branding, printed materials, links, and communications, and you do not need to change your email addresses or transfer ownership of your domain. Your domain remains in place, and Digital Cheetah will continue to invoice you annually for it. In most cases, this is also simpler and less expensive than moving your domain to an outside registrar such as GoDaddy or Bluehost, and it eliminates the need for your league to manage separate security steps like a Cloudflare account.

Option 2

WordPress native domain is the League’s custom domain e.g. jlpasadena.org

  • WordPress native domain under custom domain e.g. jlpasadena.org
  • No forwarding is used for website root
  • Direct links to pages does not require forwarding

***The domain name would stay with the current registrar e.g. Google Domains, GoDaddy, etc. ~$40/Year

Requirement

In order to adequately protect the WordPress site from security threats, it is strongly recommended that the League use Cloudflare protection.  DNS would be managed through Cloudflare which costs $240 per year (or $25 per month) and hosting fees which are about $50/Month.
