The WordPress site automatically has the file uploader set to “Multi-file uploader.” 


Switched to the browser’s built-in file uploader 




To Upload a File with the Browser Uploader

  1. To upload a file for later use: on the Dashboard menu, click Media, and then click Add New Media File (Panel to Left) to display the "Upload New Media" page.
    -Or-
    To upload a file in a page: on the Dashboard menu, click Pages, click Add New to display "Add New Page," and then, on the Upload/Insert menu, click the icon that represents the type of file you want to upload.
    -Or-
    To upload a file in a post: on the Dashboard menu, click Posts, click Add New to view the "Add New Post" page, and then, on the Upload/Insert menu, click the icon that represents the type of file you want to upload.
  2. Below the Select Files button, click the link to “Browser uploader."

  4. When the Browser uploader appears, click the Choose File button to display a dialog box.
  5. In the dialog box, select the file you want to upload.
    To select multiple files, hold down the SHIFT key (for PC users) or the COMMAND key (for Macintosh users).
  6. Click the Upload button.

Uploading via the Browser uploader:

  • Browse – Click this button, and then from the File Upload window, find and click the file to upload, then click the Open button. The Media file name will be placed in the text box to the left of the Browse button.
  • Upload – Once a Media file name is displayed in the text box to the right of the Browse button, click the Upload button to upload that Media. At that point the Media Library Screen is displayed.
  • Cancel – If the Upload is not working or is taking a prolonged period of time, click the Cancel button to cancel the Upload process.
