This article will show how to add a custom detail field in the Registration Tool as a Long Description for Members to see when they click on the event. Under the Event Description field, you can write a short version of your description that will appear under My League Events. If you want to provide more information about the event, enter the text in the custom field.
Note: Anything (except for name and description) set up at the Registration Tool Level will become the default for all events created in this tool!
Required access:
You will need the Registration Administrator or Administrator access level.
How to get there:
- Go to Admin > Member Management
- Select Registration Tool Manager
Steps to be taken:
- Click Setup next to the Registration Tool you would like to add custom detail fields to.
- Under the Advanced - Custom Detail section, there will be options to add:
- Custom Field Label - enter a descriptive name for your label (ex) Long Description
- Type - choose the type User, which will display the text to Members.
- Input Type - choose Markdown, which provides a rich text field
- Save your changes.
- Click Manage next to the Registration Tool you are using to edit an event.
- Edit the event and in the Event Description field, you can enter the text that will be visible on the Member Portal homepage under My League events.
- Scroll to the bottom and find the Custom Fields section where you will see the Long Description you just created. Enter the long version of the text here and save.
- Go back to the Member Portal homepage by clicking on Member Home on the left navigation.
- Your event will be published under League Events.
- Click on the event and you will see the longer version of the description here.
