This video will show how to sell items for sale, collect member fees and create sponsorship levels using the Simple Store, which is made to be simple and easy to manage. (Duration 3:22)


 


This article will walk you through how to add items for sale in the Simple Store. The Simple Store is made to be simple (i.e. quick to set up pages, and easy to manage). It doesn’t provide the options of a full shopping cart or inventory. 



Required access:

You will need the Store Manager or Administrator access level.


How to get there:

  • Go to Admin > Member Management
  • Find Simple Store

Steps to be taken:

  1. Click the plus icon on the top right under Listings to add a Store. To edit an existing store, click on the edit icon under the Actions tab
  2. Choose Standard Page under Page Type to list items.
  3. Enter your Page Name
  4. Enter an optional description under Introductory Text. You can add this code to include a description for the Qty:

  5. Under Page Banner Image, upload a banner image for your page. Any JPG or PNG can be used with the dimensions of 1110px by 320px.
  6. There is an option for email notifications, which can be set in Email Notification Type. You can enter up to five Admin emails to receive email notifications. These are the three options:
    • No Notification - no email notifications will be sent out
    • Nightly Summary - Admins will receive a summary nightly of all the items purchased from this store page.
    • Notification per Transaction - Admins will receive an email notification every time an item is purchased from the store page.
  7. Click Save and Add Item(s), which takes you to the item page


Add Items to Listings

  1. Enter an Item Name. For items with different sizes such as T-shirts, you can enter a custom question at checkout to collect the sizes.
  2. Provide an Item Description such as the color of the item and sizes available.
  3. For Price Type, choose Fixed or Open. Fixed allows you to enter an Item Price. Open allows people to enter any total amount (typically for open donations)
  4. Is Item Available specifies if the item is available for sale.
  5. Eligible to ship allows you to specify if the item can be shipped.
  6. Sort Order organizes the order in which your item will appear on the page (required)
  7. Choose a code under Accounting Reference, which is an accounting code that will be a available in reports that links your accounting system to Member Essentials. To create a new code, see Creating Accounting Reference Codes
  8. For Photo Type, upload a Thumbnail and/or a Full Image. Thumbnail will display on the page. For product images, squares are recommended with the dimensions of 460x460. The files could be either JPG or PNG. Full image will appear when the item is clicked.
  9. Click Save when you are done adding items, or Save and Another to add another item.

Listings

To see a list of all your items, click on the number under the Items column next to your store or from the Add/Edit Items click on Return to Item(s) Listings or the Go Back button. 


If you would like to archive your item, click on the 'X' icon under the Actions column. If you would like to restore an archived item, click on the Include Archived button, which can be found on the menu on the top right. Then, when you find the item you would like to restore, click on the restore icon under the Actions column.


Publish Simple Store

To view or publish your store page, click on the share icon next to the store page and copy the link. 


To preview your page, paste the link to your browser to access the store page.


To include the Simple Store on the Member Portal, add a quick link and paste your link, or create a new member content page. Choose Internal/External URL as the Page Type and paste your link.


Transactions

To see a list of transactions and sales through the Simple Store, click on the Transactions tab. Then, filter by the name of the Page to view transactions for a specific store. Under Eligible to Ship, you will see the address entered of where the item should be shipped. Under Questions, you will see the answers the customer specified at checkout.
