This article will show how to define your League's Membership Dues Requirement, which is the total dues owed by your members for the membership year. The requirement is defined per member status, i.e. all members with that status (as of the beginning of the year for which dues is being collected) owe the dues amount defined.
The Amount Due should include the base dues amount for the status, plus the total of all required add-ons for the status. This represents the total dues requirement for members with that status.
For example,
- The base dues for a member with the status Active Silver is $150.
- A required dues add-on is used to collect an additional $20 for a required headquarters fee.
- The AJLI dues of $43 are collected as a required add-on so the funds can be tracked with a separate accounting reference code. (Note, collecting AJLI dues as a separate add-on is optional. It can also just be factored into the base dues amount)
The total membership dues requirement is $213. This is the minimum the member should pay to renew her membership and should be entered in the Amount Due field. Optional dues add-ons can be used to solicit other purchases, e.g. a donation, but these should not be included in the membership dues requirement.
Required Access:
You will need the Dues Administrator or Administrator access level.
Where to Go:
- From the Member Portal, go to Admin > Member Management
- Find Dues Management
Steps to be Taken:
- Click on the Membership Dues Requirement tab. (Your League has the ability to customize this label so it might be labeled a different name such as Membership Dues Obligation).
- Here you will find all the member statuses defined for your League.
- To fill in the schedule for the next League year, click on View Dues Period Span.
- A popup will appear and under Select the period span to view, choose the next League year e.g. 2024-2025. Click Save to view/edit the membership dues requirement for that year.
- To configure the values under Amount Due and Due Date, click on the edit icon on the top right.
- Enter the Amount Due and Due Date for each status. Due Date is a required field. Member statuses for which dues is not collected can be left blank.

- Scroll to the bottom and click Submit to save your changes.
Copy Amount Due from Previous Year:
You have the option to use Copy from Previous Year to copy the dues amount and due dates from the previous year. When copying due dates, the year will be updated accordingly.
